What is Obesity?
Obesity is a chronic, metabolic disease caused by multiple and complex factors, including increased calorie intake, decreased physical activity and genetic influences. Morbid obesity is a health condition defined as being at least 60 to 100 pounds over your ideal body weight. A formula used to determine morbid obesity is the Body Mass Index (BMI), which is calculated by using your height and weight to determine your overall body composition.
